I think Turkish people should stop claiming this dish is stolen from them and chill out in the comments 'cause they humiliate themselves. Greece was under the Ottoman empire for 400 YEARS, each cuisine was influenced by the other! Greece and Turkey SHARE a lot of recipes and that's not between just those two countries, but also all the countries that were under the Ottoman empire. Did all of them steal your recipes too? I don't think so, that's the result of cohabitation.

Why in Melbourne? Melbourne has the biggest population of Greeks outside of Greece. And the food there is amazing!

let's all be honest, every culture has their own spin of this dish. in america they're called donut holes, in japan they're called takoyaki, in greece they're called loukoumades, and so on and so forth for the rest of the world. not one country owns this dish, but a lot have their own version. so can y'all stop acting like your country has copyright?

Could people stop being triggered on where it is from? Does it really matter? All that matters is that it makes me hungry 🙄

Lemme stop the argument, just like Baklava, it is from the ottoman like other dishes. Since the ottoman had a big part of greece before the 1st balkan war, as a turk myself, i think greece and turkey should both get credit except a few other foods from anatolia. Any way this tastes beautiful worth a try
