This botany series has been extremely valuable to me as a horticulture university student. I attribute a lot of my understanding and interest in plants to these videos!

This is awesome, I don't know much of anything about botany but I tried to look up some informative videos last year and found everything far too disorganized and overwhelming or just not easy to understand. This is coming from someone with a medical degree as well, so I of course went through many years of core science education in undergrad before I could even start learning medicine. But I always felt we didn't quite go deep enough on the medical aspect.

Botany and mycology are the basis of so many of our medications that it is truly amazing. Aspirin from the willow tree, for example. Most of our antibiotics. Opiate pain meds. The actual majority of our pharmacologic interventions are derived from plants/fungi. I've always wanted to know more about it, but I haven't found anything "right for me" on the topic, educationally speaking

edit: well, after watching this whole video it seems like this is likely a lot more basic/fundamental than I was thinking it would be in my head! That's ok though, it will still be amazingly educational for lots of people. I thought this specific video was introduction to botany, not the series! Good luck nonetheless

This series seems like it will be as a nice sea refuge for those interested in botany. A botany bay, as it were...

Subbed, liked and I was yelling "Hydrothermal vents!" at the beginning.
But I guess "a few funky exceptions" will have to do for now.
