I'm hoping that they pull a Godfather 2 and give us story flashbacks that include characters that died or have left the story, while advancing the current story. It would also be great if they concluded Shogun after 3 seasons and then began an adaptation of Gai-jin.

We know it will be fan fiction, and a skid mark on the name and legacy of James Clavell. Just look at what they did to Star wars, GOT, and LOTR. These people don't write these fan fictions for art or passion, they write them for monetary gain alone.

I believe there should a film as the companion piece to the first and second seasons of Shogun that covers from the end of season 1 to Toranaga’s victory at Sekigahara - like the producers of Kingdom (2019-2020) did in making Kingdom: Ashin of the North (2021). Outside of Shogun, I would love to the makers of the 2024 remake of Shogun to make a miniseries on the events of the Genpei War (1180-1185) - it would be EPIC!

This can go wrong in so many ways. At least James Clavell’s daughter is involved so she would have a good idea of where he could take the story.

Wait a minute... didn't they end season 1 where the books/original series ended? *big sigh* I have no faith they can make an addition to this that won't be a let down. Clavell's estate is not the man himself. Also to Mushashi comment guy.... Musashi would have still been a kid at this point. He was legit a teenager when Sekigahara happened, so unless there is like some major league years of time skipping he won't be old enough to be any kind of meaningful player.

I just want more action because the series was mainly dialogue and motion pictures should have motion. They can even throw in battosi kenshin or itto ogami or zatoichi.
