The Dongle not being a type C makes sense considering it was made for Consoles and Windows, which will more likley than not use a traditional USB port

the dongle problem i was mostly the only who was against it, because it is a piece of plastic that can be easily be losted, and wiring a controller always must be a option

Im so glad that every review of this guitar I watch, any complaint is just some weird nitpicky bitchy thing that isn't a problem for 99% of people.

So youre telling me for 10 to 15 yrs i can play fine on my pc? Sounds like a not bad deal for 120$

Still excited to get my hands on one for Xbox, but yeah, the fact that it can only be used wirelessly is a pretty big concern for people like me who are probably gonna using it 10 or so years from now.

Your riffmaster issues are the drivers, consoles require controllers to have a "security" chip to work right. Its just so they can force a fat license fee to third party manufacturers

Please try to hard reset your guitar. (Your guitar should be powered on for this step)

Press and hold your PS button for 12 seconds. (The guitar will power off after 6 seconds, this is normal, continue to hold the button for an additional 6 seconds until the guitar turns back on.
After performing the hard reset, please try to reset the connection.

Make sure the RIFFMASTER guitar is turned off
Connect the USB dongle to an active USB port of your console
Use a small paperclip to press and hold the re-pair button on the right of the USB dongle until the LED starts flashing rapidly. The button is located in the small hole. (this also can be the Connect Button)
While the LED is flashing on the USB dongle, press the power button on your RIFFMASTER
Once the guitar is turned on, press and hold the PDP Logo button and Share button on the RIFFMASTER. Keep holding both of the buttons until the LED on the transmitter AND the RIFFMASTER turn solid.
Your RIFFMASTER is now repaired and ready for use.

(To fix dongle issue, hope it works)

Pretty sure you can plug the usb c to a power brick even when the battery is dead dead and it will work while plugged in. It would get power from said brick and wirelessly send signal to the dongle. I don’t think that when plugged into power it disables the digital signal being sent like some electronics do. I know that you can currently use this while its charging so unless it’s requiring the battery to send signal it should work even in 10-15 years when the battery is fried

You have to go to the devices section of Windows and uninstall the driver that the mapper put, then restart the PC and I you can use again the dongle.

I'm largely unfamiliar with the Guitar Hero peripheral world so I'm not sure if it's common for yall to mention stuff about it, but thank you so much for mentioning the battery that does have a shelf life, I find this is something a lot of tech related hobbies don't mention in the slightest but can and will make a big effect on the usage of stuff

Apparently, the PS controller works on PC without needing to map it, but that's secondhand info I got from some other YT that did a review

anyone else’s riff master strum bar feel just stiff as hell? got one today and literally if you strum up or down it just stays in place and feels like i need to use more force than i should to use it

Yeah when starting to play Rock Band I had to get use to the clicky colors and the non clicky strum bar but after a while of just playing Rock Band I love it as much as Guitar Hero now.

Im giving this controller a chance casually.

I've bought a lot of strats and raged over them. However when i had the Jaguar, it died after a year. It powers on but doesn't respond very well. Jitters and just plain unresponsive. So I'll enjoy the Riffmaster and get another Jaguar in the future.

My biggest issue with this thing is activating star power on rock band, it’s very difficult to press select unless you find the button first and wait to activate which is kind of annoying when they could’ve just made a big select button like the 360 Les Paul. Also have you tried activating by lifting it up? I had to lift it up like 90 degrees in the air for it to activate, just wish it was more sensitive. Anyways it’s a decent guitar overall

I paid 142 for a new one from official store on amazon and it came filthy with finger smears, hair, dust and scratches, the strum bar also felt like crap like it would break easy, returning it. It's cheap plastic not worth the price.

My analog stick broke in 3 months even though I barley touched that part

the issues with festival is that all guitar hero games and rock band games were done on a engine either sourced to them or inhouse engine, fortnite festival is one of the first rythym games done in unreal engine, and has to use the tools fortnite provides, the fact it's come this far so quickly is impressive

after you brick the dongle you have to run the xbox signed driver back onto it through device manager on your pc!

I bought one and love it. I haven’t played rock band in years and this is a great way for me to jump back in to it
