Copart Auction Fail - Part 2. Scammed or Just Stupid?

I find out what's wrong with my beautiful Passat that was listed on copart as a good, running car....and it's not good.

I bet your mechanic is a very good mechanic. But I bet he's not too familiar shit these Volkswagen and their 2.0ts. I love them, I buy them all the time running or not. The flaw is that usually around 120k miles the timing chainntensioner becomes weak and the intake camshaft will just a few teeth on startup. Typically bending intake valves. I've bought 6 of them that did that and worked on about 10 for other plow that did that and it's never been any more than valves and timing chain kit. Find a cheap mechanic that knows vw. My 2009 gti with the 2.0t just jumped time. Costing me $250 to fix it myself!
