I know some people are going to prove me wrong by saying maleficent is the worst villian and she can never turn good, but this how maleficent turns bad, as a child she had a far worse treatment than mal probably was neglected her childhood friend stefan betrayed her when he was a teen by giving her true loves kiss and thelan cutting her wings in order to become king. King beast betrayed by locking her up on a small crowded island with hardly food or water to drink and wash. And than planning to close the barrier for good will make her even more pissed. She would probably think that belle will take her place steal mal as a daughter. And by watching the Royal wedding probably mad fairygodmother for trying to steal hades, well with hades I don't know if she still loves him maybe she loves him but he doesn't love her, but one thing hades did well was not take away maleficents child away just not like her man from once upon time did, I think maleficent one dream was for someone truly love her and accept that she has an anger which can get out of hands, it might be that she would be in a psychiatric hospital for a ejole but if she gets better she will be realised probably on meds
