One that you forgot to mention is Stacer.
I've never seen the Resources. Definitely gonna check that one out.

I always use 100% of my ram. Paid for it to work, not laze around

Thanks for telling us about Resources and BTOP++ seem better than default dated Gnome System Monitor.

There's also "glances" which is more I/O focused.

What? No PyTop... Lol
I use HTop 99% of the time to kill process like when OBS refuses to do something and locks up... Lol
Great video Matt! 👍

I've always used htop in terminal and stacer for GUI, but btop is really nice!

Haven't had chance to watch until home but I'm guessing cache followed by browser tabs.

Oh and Mission Centre looked familiar but i think it consumes significant resources when open :)
Might only notice on older hardware.

gkrellm, looking for something better that fills the roll of displaying something useful on the last frame that was rendered... Must be always visible to be part of the last frame, it's mongohud for the desktop.

Htop is my go to system monitor but mainly because I am a creature of habit and this is one I have just gotten to know

I like Stacer, although it's heavier than a few of these. It also has tools that are pretty useful.

Huh, I didn't know nvtop also worked with AMD GPUs, that's pretty neat. I always use radeontop for AMD based systems.

Starting lal of the applications I regualrly use, at startup, is what is hogging 10 gigs at idle lol
And Hyprland, of course.

Windows uses 7GB for a nice GUI on my system. Linux uses 3GB. I have more resources to do important things on Linux. For example, I am studying to take the Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator exam and I have to run a number of vm mock RHEL servers for my labs. At least with my PC, having faster emulation via KVM and having more resources on Linux than Windows, makes it the preferred platform.

For me firefox
Ungoogled chromium or brave do much better. Had my pc crash countless times due to how mych ram Firefox hogs
