I'm working with the big threes and this kind of exercises with 3 youth female volley teams, having great results. Thank you for theese videos 🙏🏼

As per the words of Kelley Starrett -- "You don't own a position until you can breathe in the position." --- always searching for new ways to teach this concept and really like the level of feedback the KB appears to provide here, not just for the individual but visually as a coach also makes that easier to tell if they are properly achieving the sequence. Thanks for another great vid! 👍🏽

Thanks for this. Awesome drill as prescribed.

Also replaced the kettlebell with a knee and used it to teach better breathing, core activation, and ability to stay calm under pressure (literal and figurative) to my Brazilian jujitsu class this afternoon.

I haven't a clue as to what's going on....

I love it! Amazingly simple delivery for such an important yet overlooked aspect of breathing and exercising. I mean it's breathing, one would think it's self explanatory, but there is always more to learn. A seemingly small movement with a huge impact on the whole body.
Thank you a lot for this!

So I love the simplicity of this but from my research and experience the reason more hyper mobile types herniate is one - stupid belts and two - a lack of “radial contraction”. Something Arnold - I imagine - learnt studying ballet. And that’s the opposite action. It’s a skinny jeans suck in…??? Boys ? Also seen in gymnastics - some of the best movers…???

Also most people struggle to suck I’m not really understanding the “zip” idea… then training people to do it without squeezing their glutes…

I did practice it not with a kettlebell, but with a 18L water bottle, when alone.
Another way I did with more challenging, was to ask a lady to sit on my stomach, and then having a conversation.

I guess any weight will work? I’ve got my own home gym nowadays and don’t have kettlebells. Is it acceptable to use a weight plate or DB? How much weight?

Try breathing in a plank position that's way better than this 😁

Very interesting. So, this is about pushing the belly out, and it has great benefits. Here's a silly question: is there an exercise for the opposite direction? pulling the belly in? Is there a benefit in that too?

Hey SquatU, question regarding this bracing and pelvic floor dysfunction. I am a Physical Therapist and the education I have received regarding core activation in regards to reducing strain on pelvic floor teaches that this outward pressure and bracing can be harmful over the long term for the pelvic floor musculature. Is this a matter of proper execution and control, or should these cues be modified for these patients. Thank you, your material is a large part of how I practice today

Hi Aaron! It seems like the last month's Q/A ended up not happening. Is everything OK with you man? I've been getting worried right here! Hope all is well with you! As always, great content!

I'm confused. i thought bracing was about breathing in and squeezing the abs. here you are saying expand the abs and breath out? how does that tighten the abs?

How much weight for the kettlebell? Can someone with a small umbilical hernia still do this?

Question how do you keep your core tight while making it like a balloon?

How heavy should the kettlebell be approximately?

The first exercise is basically my cat resting on my stomach

I still don't get your idea of bracing your core
