Lol this video made me tear up, seeing how happy that dog is frolicking with his toys, really reminds me when my dog was younger. He’s on his last days now as an old man and I try to make the best of it for him. Dogs are just angels in disguise.

My friend told me their dog doesn't fetch, but I noticed the dog loves toys and playing tug. Every time I meet their dog I do a little bit of fetch training and today she started bringing the toy right back to my hand. I do a little bit of tug before asking her to release the toy since she used to need that extra motivation, but other than that she's learnt a proper fetch thanks to Zac George's videos and some occasional play sessions.

wow the progression the dog made in 1 session is amazing. Your such a good trainer, I like how you focus on keeping the dog happy and not as obedient as some training courses I've attended.

Thanks so much.. I tried this immediately with my puppy after watching this video. He follows through right away. First time he ever fetched in his life. I'm so amazed. Thank you again!!

for anyone who can’t get this method to work for their dog: I got two toys and i would throw one of them and my dog would go to fetch it, then he would bring it back in exchange for me to throw the second toy. i’m sure this video works for a lot of dogs, but my dog learned better through a different way.

Hey Zak! My Belgian Malinois was about 3 and a half months old when I watched this video. I'm happy to say that now, at 5 months old, he has become a master at fetch, I can throw his ball out of sight from me and he retrieves it as fast as he can without hesitation. All credit to this video! Thank you thank you!

I don't even have a dog but I'm getting one really soon so I am watching all of your videos to be prepared.

Edit: I have a dog he turned one last march
Edit: he is a mini golden doodle and his name is Marvel
Edit: dang this comment is old. Marvel is very happy and spoiled. 7/28

Many years later and between this video and the “drop it” video in just a couple of hours my dog has made fantastic progress! Thank you Zac

I have a 13 week old GSD and he’s kinda similar, he’s not huge on fetch, he gets bored easily and he wanders a litttle bit with it. So I’m always grateful for videos with high energy dogs. 😅 I’m just starting fetch with him. Your videos are always real helpful! 💕 Thanks!

Wish my dog would be interested in a tennis ball first

Super helpful video! Will be implementing with my Weimaraner puppy that’s a little meh about fetch at the moment. Seeing him get the frisbee so quickly was awesome to see!
