I also view the octopus technique in a similar way when I visualize connecting to my higher-self/oversoul. At a deeper level I think we are all connected so this is in the same category. Great video Teal.

Something I've been getting myself into as of late as a result of consciously following my subconscious desires is adopting the personalities of the people I see in life, trying them on like a buffet. This makes the octopus technique easier, especially knowing that since I was young I've had a knack for seeing into my "distant" past lives, seeing that at one point in time I was everyone that existed. This was long, long before I discovered this thing called "the New Age Movement", and my family was all Christian. I say this to affirm that I had no bias in thinking this was possible. Anyhow, I remember looking into their eyes and remembering their life at the time. I became enamoured with the idea, remembering realities I'd never felt in a ("long") time. Because life beyond this life is not like "one life, two lives, three lives, the next life, etc". It's more like a dream. When you leave your body, it all kind of flows together. It's more like a song, a place, a kind of a feeling... This ability of mine has faded out of use, atrophied like a muscle. I'm hoping that I can renew it, with this technique to help me. I actually worked on this technique this year and I developed it by myself and I have had great results. The way I did it wasnt essentially the 'octopus' but the idea of transferring conscious through leaving your own body was the way I did it. Best advice I can give is build up the image of where they are, take your time to immerse yourself into their perspective.

Mahalo Teal. I am smiling and filled with joy after practicing this visualization. I believe this will help me understand my family and friends better. I love imagining being my children, my brother, my mother or anyone as an arm of the octopus after moving out of my arm and into theirs. I feel this will help my relationships and if everyone in the world did this everyday we would have no more war, only compassion, understanding and peace. And I love Octopi! They are such beautiful, intelligent, mysterious creatures. We can learn so much from nature and animals. Thank you for sharing this technique!

Great insight Teal. I did visualize my consciouness climbing up the octupus. And it felt so real! This was an awesome technique. ill now practice this in my daily routine. I often wondered how i could tap into my pschic abilities and this has helped. Thank you Teal.

This hurt. I was able to actually FEEL the pompousness of my ex’s entitlement, and taking what he needs. I had to see it, but I sure don’t know what to do with it now. It really hurts to realize that just because I would never use someone else, it makes me naive to believe others wouldn’t, either. Empathy isn’t always pretty, sometimes we put ourselves in egocentric bubbles bc some people truly are only out for themselves regardless of the damage it causes. And my ex called this “love.”

Try this instead... Rather than going into another person's (or animal's, or plant', or "inanimate" object) perspective - energy field, open into yourself, as you indicate at the beginning. When you are opened & centered in your own "presence", then invite the other into your awareness.

This way, you do not violate the boundaries of the other. You are not pulling them in, you are just inviting or welcoming them in. The connection will, or will not occur if the other is open to it. Note that this is not a mental process, rather, it is a sensory & energetic feeling experience.

The connection happens at the level of body, aura, sense of presence (spirit as some say) &/or the level of the unformed (the "state" of potential before all that is, awareness).Which levels of connection you will experience will depend on both your & the other's openness & receptivity to, or resistance to the connection.

Trying to reach into another's energy / presence will usually create resistance & blocking. If you push it, it will negatively affect your own being. Understand that the connection is really an openness, a holding of space, so-to-speak, where you are both present with each other. Whatever you "do" in this openness will affect you as well as the other.

Best to enter such connections with no agenda, accepting what arises, falls away as it is with no need to change anything about the other (or yourself). A focused & very light attention (light as a feather) works best to avoid getting stuck in any drama; it also facilitates more spontaneous balancing of the energy flows.

Feel any resistance &, again, accept, allow the feeling of the resistance to be just the way it is, without needing it to be different than it feels. Balance will manifest seemingly on it's own when we can accept completely, whatever is.

It is our ego speaking when we think we can know better than the other what is best for them.
That being the case, it is wrong to try to change the other. Rather, if the connection is relaxed & without resistance, feel the other within your own being (without trying to reach out to them & without trying to "pull" them in. Then simply let them "change you".
