Side effects of dopa include: On-Off phenomenon, psychological disturbance, euphoria, hallucinations, insomnia, anxiety, abnormal sexual activity.
If L-dopa leads to psychosis, we do NOT stop the drug (the patient needs it), instead, we give antipsychotics to treat the side effects.

Side effects of Selegiline (MAO-B inhibitor) include amphetamine-like symptoms.

Tolcapone can lead to liver toxicity, you better monitor the liver function tests (LFTs) periodically.

Levodopa caused my grandfather and now father to have massive hallucinations. What is the point of a bit more movement if you don’t know where you are or who you are talking to?

My father has Parkinsons and levodopa/carbidopa almost knocks him out. He says it feels like an opiate and makes him less active and mobile. Isn't this counterproductive? He recently tried cannabis that was mostly sativa and he was much more active

Hi, I'm medical student. I saw your video while studying this drug. I remembered that dopa decarboxylase is vitamin B6 dependent, so if I take too much b6 I reduce the action of the drug? I found conflicting ideas online ... what do you say?
