When you said "yeah, bring your kids to the cockpit"
It reminded me that day when I was like- 10 maybe... And I really wanted to see how it was into the cockpit, how everything works, etc...
And then my mom told me she was gonna ask if it was possible for me to go see in the cockpit but she told me that she wasn't sure that they would say yes because of all the accidents that happened with people just entering the cockpit and making the plane crash...
So she asked to one of the women that was working on the plane if it was possible at least before the flight starts and she said that she was going to ask to the pilot. So when she came back she said that they said yes but that the pilot wasn't here yet so there was only the co-pilot. So I went to the cockpit, started to talk with the co-pilot, he was kinda impressed I knew some things that usually 10 years old kids (or even adults) don't know (I knew these things because my father worked in an airport and he had friends working on air planes (like fixing them, etc...)
So then I came back to my place beside my mother and then there's the pilot, the co-pilot, and the woman that works on the plane that just went OUT of the cockpit and called us- the pilot said: "Excuse me, take your stuff and come please."
And my mother was like- "What did you do?!"
So we took our bags and all the things and then they just- closed the curtains and they said to follow them to the cockpit- so we ended up doing ALL THE FLIGHT in the cockpit with them! It was a really funny and cool experience!
Fun fact number one: we had to shut up everytime they were communicating with the airport
Fun fact number two: there were old candies on the floor of the cockpit-
And finally- fun fact number three-: when they called us, all the people were looking at us like-

Good luck to read all of this! <3

I used to fly British Airways on a 747-200 (2 pilots plus flight engineer) across the pond quite frequently back in the late 80's and early 90's. I usually asked the flight attendants if I could visit the cockpit in flight as I am a private/instrument pilot. I was usually granted permission and literally spent hours in the cockpit with the pilots. On one flight I was there for almost 2 hours chatting as we flew over Greenland, so serene and pretty. They finally threw me out when we had to begin our descent. I also managed to fly the jump seat on a Lufthansa ATR 72 from Munich to Milan. We flew over the Alps as the sun was going down. That was spectacular. Just discovered your channel, I love it. Thanks for sharing.

Im a retired flight attendant, in flight deck while first officer was in bathroom, I was talking to captain. We were discussing UFO's. He and fo saw one on the way to Alaska late one evening. It was documented . He notified atc and wrote it up. His sighting was documented in a book about UFO sightings.

I didn't realize the autopilot could land the plane...interesting. I like hearing from the pilot, they always sound so calm and relaxed, might be helpful for travelers that are nervous about flying. I used to be somewhat nervous about flying but as I've gotten older it doesn't bother me at all now.

Thanks for the content. You answered a question I’ve been wondering about the age limit for hire. I have eight more years before I’m eligible to retire and I will be 46 years old. I have my PPL and plan on taking it all the way to ATP by then.

I love your videos! I just found your channel last month and I’ve been watching your vlogs in reverse. Thank you for answering all of these questions.
My husband is an ER doc. Occasionally when we’ve flown, the FA will ask on the overhead will ask if there’s a doctor on board. It’s never been anything life-threatening. But he feels like he can’t offer much help since he doesn’t have tools/meds etc. He usually just sits with the person and offers reassurance. The flight crew has always been very appreciative.

Interesting about the break times that you get. My husband’s ED has switched to mostly 12h shifts. It’s too taxing. They need to offer ER docs breaks too. Not sure why they don’t?

In the topic of ratings... accelerated programs you can get from zero to MEI in 6 Months. With PPL in 1 Month, Instruments in 3 weeks, commercial 2 weeks, CFI 1 week, CFIII 1 week, Multi 2 weeks, and MEI 1 Week and the rest is building time for the next rating. So no years if you are committed to get your ratings.

For your next Q&A video....I'm curious if you prefer the 75 or the 76. Excluding the destinations of course, but wondering which one is more fun to fly.

When I worked at a dealership in Cannon Falls, MN, we had a customer who was a pilot for Northwest that would sit on his tailgate and drink beer while we worked on his truck. I always teased him that if I ever heard his south accent over the intercom before a flight that I would have to get off the plane. He said he couldn't drink before work, so he made up for it on his down time. I'm pretty sure drinking in our shop was against our rules, too...

Speaking of all important Coffee, the last flight I took with United from Geneva to IAD in Dec, they served the expensive "Illy" brand coffee in the Economy. That was a pleasant surprise. The food sucked but the coffee more than made up.

I am an EMT and Registered Nurse. I don’t advertise this upon boarding anymore because I was being disturbed for too many minor issues that are weren’t actual medical emergencies. I want to make a suggestion for when you do have your first live birth in flight. EMTs have to start a second chart for a baby when we deliver in the ambulance. We also have a great tradition of contacting dispatch to inform them that we went from transporting one individual to the hospital to two (or more) including the newborn. I don’t know what your protocol is but I hope you get the honor of updating ATC that you have more souls on board than when you took off!
