The autopilot question reminds me of a joke Matt Damon, playing a pilot, says on 30Rock about the difficulties of flying: "Maybe you just wanna fly the plane yourself. Well good luck pressing take off, then auto pilot, then land." :p

For the autopilot answer,
Yeah it’s on for most of the flight but it’s not flying the plane.

It does what the pilots tell it to do.

Claiming the AP is flying would be like saying your word processor and printer wrote your essay for you because you didn’t put pen to paper yourself. Sure the AP moved the flight controls but the pilot did the thinking and gave the instructions and information to the autopilot for it to do the right thing and so the airplane gets from A to B safely.

Im almost done with my atpl, and i did a modular just because of the time wise of classes and flights, and usually takes around 24 months, but in both cases it all comes down to the student and how comited is he/she. !

I was wondering, how do you balance your duty as a pilot with creating content? Are pilots allowed to use digital cameras in the cockpit, or during a walk around? There was a RAF A330 incident a few years back involving a pilot's dslr camera.
