6:00 MentourPilot made a podcast about that topic. It's not because parachutes are too expensive. It is because:
1. Most passengers simply can't operate parachutes properly.
2. At 30000 feet altitude, there is not enough oxygen. You will pass out.
3. The aircraft is pressurized, so you can't open the door.
