I'm 90% certain that even a chunk with nothing in it will be the same file size as a chunk with blocks filling it completely, because it still keeps tracks of all blocks, even the "air" blocks that the "no blocks" are considered.

Hey Antvenom! 1:20 I actually believe that the reason this is in not your mod but rather within minecraft itself. The Minecraft Devs, (from my hobby coding perspective) Probably coded the 2 to the 26 limit into the actual world generation system itself, or probably told the game to stop generating, rendering, and even performing basic functions after 2 to the 26, but somehow, the actual limit, rather then being from the power of 26 on, ended at the power of 27. This is most likely due to either A: the developers decided that no one will ever go past the 26 power, so we don't have to limit it further, or B: they forgot to actually code all powers of two after 26 leading up to the true limit of minecraft.

P.S. All of this information is almost speculation, as I am only a hobby coder and don't know what an actually gaming company like Mojang would do wehn coding the new terrain gen, world border, and limits to minecraft.
