My Samsung monitor had some dead pixels on arrival, within 2 weeks I had an replaced VA panel, and it works to this day without problems. Note: I was using the warranty in Poland, and service here may be better than at yours location, didn't have an opportunity to test the USA service.

If there is extended warranty/insurance from where you bought your monitor, I'd highly recommend you get that--assuming they're willing to exchange/replace the unit.

Mine died (does not power on) after 2+ months of use. I read that this has been happening since launch, so I went with an extended insurance from Best Buy. I'll be heading there to have my monitor inspected today, and hope I get a replacement that has no issues. It's so disappointing that we pay so much for a monitor like this, but have to constantly stress about when it'll die on us.
