I think you make a very accurate point towards the end, to me it does seem Adobe have a policy to stop development of apps after a few years of finishing it. I’ve long ago abandoned Adobe and I have not looked back.

Nothing this app has is brand new:
- ArtRage already had realistic watercolor brushes.
- MyPaint focuses on realistic emulation of traditional tools.
- Both ArtRage and MyPaint simulate pigment based color mixing (colors in digital are based off light spectra).
- Photoshop already had dynamic brushes like pencil brushes that would lose their tip during use and you'd need to sharpen them, which is silly, but it's there.
- Clip Paint Studio has all their brushes vector based. On a vector layer, every brush stroke can be adjusted easily to perfection, then converted into a raster layer.
