I was stuck in Dominican Republic for 5 months during Covid and I was the only one spoke English so I was force to learn Spanish faster. I picked up on alot of words and phases.

I definitely don’t understand everything. But I started meeting with Spanish speakers to help me with my comprehension and mistakes. Getting a tutor has been critical

Great video. I find reading (especially out loud) to be beyond helpful. I may read in the morning and later when I listen to podcasts or talk radio I hear the words/phrases I've read. Before I started doing this those words/phrases were going over my head without me knowing.

Love the videos and shorts too! Just came back from Thanksgiving with my Familia in COROZAL PR after 40 years since my last visit! My Spanish was quite rusty but watching some of your content on the plane ride over helped!
Luckily, many of them lived in Chicago for many years and still speak and understand English. Glad I found your Channel! Que Brutal !😊

Love this video! One small thing to note is that babies don't wait to begin talking until they understand everything. The developed brain can begin producing language on DAY 1 of language learning and the more time you wait the more anxiety may build. Consider jumping right in there and using your new language a little bit each opportunity you get. (M.Ed. in World Language Instruction)

Best is usually to focus on Mexican Spanish, then branch from there. Speak slower at first, and also do mimicry when possible. Prime example I come across is people saying please like “porfa” which is slang for por favor. If you’re serious always find a coach! Good content on this channel 👍🏽👍🏽

Great content bro!
Quick question though
I’m debating on which accent I want to try to attain while learning Spanish and I think I’m gonna go with the Paisa of Medellin
But do some native speakers see it as kinda corny if we non natives try to emulate their accent/dialect etc.?Que más, pues lol

Yo sé que esto es probablemente algo del país desde el cual aprendiste a hablar español o donde naciste, pero jamás escuche el "qué es la que hay?" xD
