This and Sir Duke are the ones I love to play along with the most. I can actually play "I want you back" blind folded now.

My son learned this on bass and it became a comforting sound because it meant he was home.

That’s my uncle Wah Wah Watson on rhythm guitar on that recording! RIP!!!!

I agree completely. This bassline is a triumph. My band doesn't play party jams, but I still woodshed this one a couple of times a year just to keep myself honest.

Great feel in your playing bro!

The pulse and beat are everlasting for that great bassline.

It’s one of my favourite dance songs . Remember him for the artist he was and not for the monster he became. 💕

Does this song not just bring a smile to your face every time you hear it? It takes me back to my youth when this was on the radio all the time.

Yup. Been practicing this for a while. Have it pretty down, though I sometimes have problems with that one little Db arpeggio lick leading to the C, but slow and steady wins the race.

I got the notes down but the bounce and feel is so important and damn hard for me. Will keep trying to get this masterpiece but deceptively hard.

Glad someone noticed this classic. Check out Sheryl Crow’s live cover of this. She actually sounds like a 10 yr old Michael doing it. Btw, one of the coolest base lines ever.

Geezers bass solos from N.I.B and War Pigs are also a good one. Man just improvised everything on scales so it's fun to jam along and do your own stuff too

This and “I was mad to love her” are my favorite Jamerson bass lines to play
