I would like to recommend my friend Barbara Howerska’s collection The Widow Witch, from Half Moon Press. Went to hear her read from it yesterday. The title poem is based on Slavic folklore and there is also one about the Pendle Witch Trials.

I am always in the mood for more poetry recommendations, and am rather pleased this video now exists. Quite a few of them, I've been meaning to read, whilst I'm made incredibly happy to see certain collections on this list. A collection I'm currently throwing in everyone's direction is Oysterlight by Cheryl Pearson - it's one of those where I end up wishing I had more skill when it comes to writing poetry. In celebration of National Poetry Day, my writer's group held readings in the library, and I'm now particularly enthusiastic that there's more folk than I thought interested in poetry. Hope your day has been exceptionally marvellous. :D

I cannot recommend Olio by Tyehimba Jess enough! It’s about the dying age of jazz and it’s wonderfully varied in style and topic and form
