They knew the contract expiration date was approaching... theres zero excuse to willfully leave the taxpaying citizens left unprotected & vulnerable. Now with media coverage... it just gives a heads up to criminals in that area. If the mayor wasn't happy with the contracted services... he should've addressed it long before the contract expired. If he was planning to create a new city police department... it should've been setup & ready to go by the time the contracted services expired... This mayor has opened the city up to massive lawsuits if (when) something happens & he's responsible for there being no resources that the taxpayers have already paid for & expect. Lawyers are drooling waiting for the negligence lawsuits coming.. this mayor is dangerous to the community.
