Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.

Langan is saying the universe is _within_ God's mind, not that the universe is God's mind.
This would mean Langan affirms a version of idealism much like my own: a single mind is fundamental and subsumes the universe, with metaphysical explanation dangling downward from this one mind.

God is mind. We are the image of God, so we are mind. These bodies are illusions. Only our minds are real. The entire universe is in God’s mind. God’s mind is heaven. Someday the veil will be removed and we will see everything the way it is.

Hello Chris I have watched several of your videos and your interview with Spike Jonze and I understood what you were talking about with ease a few months ago. I'm currently working on my thesis of how the universe works via my personal experiences and with the personal experiences of my very special friends. We are here to join the good fight to push humanity in the right direction. I downloaded your book The Art of Knowing, it is possible to speak to you regarding your work? Sincerely, Danielle

This is basically what everyone who takes psychedelics comes up with independently.

Well that's always been the big debate between theologians and mystics: Does God stand outside his creation or does it exist within his mind. ("We're all asleep in the same dream" etc.) Why Langan makes a definitive statement about the unknowable is beyond me though.

The entire universe is in the mind. So if the entire universe was a single unit defined as God, then we are all that One Being

A lot of what you say Mr. Langan sounds rational but when you discuss a heaven, hell, and an Abrahamic god you lose me. If we are god, and god creates a hell to discard unwanted/evil humans, then it's sending its own self to hell to suffer for eternity. An infinite god means that it is composed of EVERYTHING. There is no separate being if everything is god. It's like saying the paint on a canvas is separate from the entire painting (that's impossible as everything on that canvas is a part of the painting/art)

For what reason? Hell is thought of as a punishment and lesson that you learn for your evil doings, but a lesson is meant to teach you why you shouldn't do something so you don't do it again. If hell is eternal, it's pointless as you don't gain anything from experiencing that reality in an eternal state.

What I'm trying to say is it doesn't make sense for god to do that

I think it makes more sense if god loves all aspects of itself. If you are god which is everything, then you are good and bad. An infinite creature that must have opposites to exist. Without good, there can't be bad.

If this " infinite creature" loved itself and valued every experience it acquired to expand its own consciousness, that seems like a more appropriate answer rather than sending a part of itself to hell to senselessly suffer forever.

Ahhhh so Chris is an Arian. Wonder if he has heard orthodox refutations of Arianism

Its a beautiful and brilliant concept but with a few missing pieces which grants itself its own invalidity. It does not take into account the multiple perceptions which must fit into it which makes a universal model. All the pieces must necessarily combine to form a reality based "character" which wed may label GOD. Of course, I have my own conviction, if you will, which I simply call The Universal Model in which I am assured will grant an equal and self-fulfilling eternal existence of matter and energy. but it is not in contention with any other theory or model, including yours.

Isn't this hermeticism or Spinoza's god?

see the problem is how do you define a mind? or a huamn person? to me, they are both sets of atoms arranged. so to say that we are "sons of god", all atom configurations are too... boom shattered this guys horseshit instantanelly.
