I think this is a Christian-Gnostic perspective, like similar to what the freemasons believe. But from what I've read about Gnosticism & Valentinianism, the Gnostic mythology isnt theology, it's an allegory and shouldnt be taken as biblical fact like scripture.

He is right. Lucifer and Satan (also known as Ahriman) represent the opposite poles of evil, like the mythical Scylla and Charybdis. Lucifer is a fallen archangel, Satan is a fallen ruler (1 hierarchy above archangels, = archai in greek).

But both of them have their role in God's creation. It's when they are misplaced that they act as evil.
