That seems to me a better design for a robot intended for use in physical jobs.

The difference between Tesla's bot tech and others is that theirs is re-engineered from first principles using Deletion rules. Others uses existing servos and third party components. Tesla is vertically integrated, all servos, joints are re-engineered for their specific purposes. Then, you get to the AI part. This is their core differences. Their evolution of the FSD is a prime example, it has been completely re-engineered twices already. Tesla understands a design can only go so far before it is obsoleted, thus they accelerate the process. That means testing to destruction in order to find the limits and design weaknesses, few if any others do such. Their AI is also end-to-end, others are mostly heuristics with some neural networks. The weakness is the heuristics part that is rather rigid and cannot self-evolve. End2end requires more training variances, thus requires lots of real-life data modelling, plus a combo of simulation plus realworld data. Such a process is time consuming without shortcuts in the current AI tech.

I know when it comes from a pure robot to robot demonstration, it seems like figure is a "competitor" to the tesla bot, but I'd be willing to bet it costs at least 2x as much to build the figure bot.
