I didn't like making au jus with drippings from the roast. I can now make it fresh without having to filter the fats from the roast.

This is a good base recipe. I added juice from my cooked meatloaf which helped to season the gravy.

If you're using red wine as well, you'd add that with the drippings after the flour right?

Terrible! Taste was "off", my wife and I both thought so. Not at all like what you get with pan drippings, not even close.

Don't get the amazing comments. This was awful. Made it exactly to recipe then threw it out. Yuk!

Not impressed with this one. Much better ways of making this. Alot of butter and flower for a not nice after taste that wont go away. Be careful of the red wine, too much and you sour your sauce. Just not impressed with this recipe.
