Why did God command Abraham to sacrifice Isaac? Doesn't God hate child sacrifice? -Podcast Ep. 210

Why was Abraham willing to sacrifice Isaac? If God already knew what Abraham would do, why did God still ask Abraham to do it? Doesn't the Bible say that God hates the very idea of child sacrifice?

Note that Abraham knew God asked him to do something that was not in His character, did not question Him as to why He is so out of character.

When Issac asked where is the sacrifice? Why did Abraham not say, you are the sacrifice?

We would all like to have faith like Abraham, the father of faith. But how is that proven except through Abraham's sacrifice. I do not think that necessarily means giving up a child (if we have no children, there must be another way), but it does mean we show more love for God than for the promise He gave, just like Abraham.

God is all knowing. Why the need to test Abraham’s faith?

Obedience ...to God's word (yes HIS LAWS, COMMANDMENTS STATUETTES) yes before Israel or The Jewish existed Gods Law existed ( Noah was a preacher of righteousness) . Bear in mind that because he listened and obeyed all that God commanded but yet God tells him to offer his son as a burnt offering he took the wood, the fire and a knife?

Go read the passage again we have all missed: why? by faith he obeyed!
