my tactic is when I list new items I put them on at cost price after fees. then I put ads on it until it sells. when it sells I increase the price and turn ads off this way it gets ranked.

Agree 100% about ads. We run $15-$20/day and it makes HUGE difference. At the end of the day Etsy sellers need to ask whether they believe in their products enough to make a capital expense toward ads. Most are not willing to risk an upfront investment, let alone a monthly dedicated marketing budget. Imagine where Nike would be if it spent $0 on ads. Or any other company for that matter.

When you up closed that hat, I saw bars between your keyword phrases. I have heard that either Etsy or Google has problems with anything other than commas and periods.
I think they look like bad eBay titles, myself, but that's just me, lol.
