Yes! Buying fewer products instead of buying “clean” products = much better for the environment. If you don’t need it, don’t buy it.

The reason brands attack petrolatum is precisely because it’s effective and dirt cheap. On paper, the competition is unbeatable, so they have to do their best to disqualify it.

I work for a Surgical Oncologist specializing in Melanoma and the only thing we recommend patients use post surgery is Vaseline. Thank you for the video!

My skin completely changed, healed, stopped breaking out when I stopped used “clean/natural” products and started using basic, fragrance free, and fewer products. I wish marketers would knock it off with the bs

I think it's just kinda funny there's people that are convinced vaseline is bad for you lol... but then want to put something like lemon straight on their skin.

Vaseline around the eyes and mouth before tretinoin has been a lifesaver- petrolatum is a friend in my book

Yep I had surgery and told my surgeon I was going to use a scar cream on the wound and she said to just use Vaseline… it’s better for wound healing. I was stunned, but did as she said, and my scar is almost invisible.

Dr. Dray is so right. I'm a nurse practitioner and we have the same jars of Vaseline that Dr. Dray was holding up all over the place. It's great and we use it for everything. I use it at night on my lips.

Clean beauty: gentle soap/cleaner; French pharmacy SPF50; affordable simple moisturizer; accepting aging as a (current) inevitability.

The petroleum thing drives me nuts. It’s the MOST USED topical agent in the hospital- a place where evidence based practice rules. But we’re supposed to believe the clean beauty stance? Yea that makes sense 🤦‍♀️ Keep doing what you’re doing Dr Dray!

I am mixed Black (I choose to not use the label African American). Growing up, Vaseline was the go to "face cream" if there was no Ponds or Oil of Olay (glass bottle with the runny pink liquid). We washed our face with Camay. I'm showing my age 😉

My pet peeve is the paraben hatred. So you want something safe to be replaced by something unsafe as long as you don't know it's unsafe...

"They used radio carbon isotope analyses and found 100% of these products did in fact have ingredients of petrochemical origin." roasted with science. Thanks for another informative video. 👍

over 90% of dermatologic creams and treatments have mineral oil in their composition... avène, bioderma, uriage, la rp... brands who do huge research on dermatology put petrolatum in majority of their products. Idk why people hate so much on mineral oil, it is great!

I definitely fell hard for the clean beauty marketing, mostly because I try to stick to cruelty free products and they’re lumped together. I still try to buy mostly cruelty free but I refuse to fall prey to marketing traps again! Also, just in regards to petrolatum, in my experience with my sons, doctors always recommend using only petrolatum on wounds. Clearly it’s not harmful.

You are the reason I found successful skin care that doesn't aggravate or irritate my skin. I tried Cerave because of you. Thanks for debunking the PR. My skincare routine is far simpler now.
