Men need to be capable of controling their emotions, it produces stability. I don't think it's necessarily bad to cry as a man but I definitely think that it is contextual. I think if a woman is with a man that cries at first World problems like we often do that the woman will immediatly lose respect for him and I don't think that woman are looking for such a partner. They definitely want a Man that is stable and that can fix problems. Ofcourse this is generally speaking. I also don't think that these differences between men and woman are cultural, but rooted in biology.
