i think you are referring to pet rats... but even my pet rats spend most of the day asleep and at night they are having a blast in their cage, sometimes they are so noisy i cannot sleep haha =P

Although i personally don't like rats.. Isn't it a little inhumane for them to be kept in total darkness just so they could be used? I'm just curious i'm not pointing any fingers.

for those of who think why not a dog.a rats sense of smell is better than a dog and can even detected odors dogs can not and have 95% acrecey rate.they are way easier to train and learn faster than most dogs can.they need much less space unlike dog that needs a yard to run around in and rat needs just room.they are cheaper and are easier to care for.dogs are big and can be perty much impractical where there's no crimel.heck all a dogs got on the rat is size and that's only good for imtiadion and not much else and the dogs bigger size means it can't get into tight spots to sniff and usually miss something important.
