How I made Frieren's staff

How I made Frieren's staff.
INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ⬇️

Materials: EVA foam, 3/4" PVC pipe, strip of fabric, red and gold paint, balloon stick, dowel, contact cement, toothpicks, rubber leg tip.

I speed built this staff a few months back. It's not as smooth as I'd like, but it was fine enough for a quick build.

1. Drew out a few circles to form the outer and inner shapes.

2. Made outer circle into crescent moon shape with rounded ends. Traced onto 6mm EVA foam. Did this twice and glued the two parts together.

3. Carved out corners roughly to prepare for sanding.

4. Cut 3 circles for the middle part. 2 smaller than the middle piece.

5. Sanded the crescent shape and the circles.

6. Glued 3 circles together like a reverse hamburger. Then heat sealed.

7. Heat sealed crescent piece.

8. Made holes in crescent piece for toothpicks and balloon stick, after measuring. (Straws are fine too, but balloon sticks are a little stronger.)

9. Inserted toothpicks into holes.

10. Cut balloon sticks to size and put over toothpicks. Glued into place.

11. Cut a half circle and rolled into a cone.

12. Glued to top of staff.

13. Repeated for the bottom part, except slightly larger, and cut off the top of the cone.

14. Glued rubber leg tip to bottom of staff.

15. Painted staff red.

16. Cut out a thick strip of 2mm EVA foam and 2 thin strips. Glued thick layer first and 2 thin strips on edges of thick strip (directly above leg tip).

16. Painted this whole part gold.

17. Repeated for the top part of the staff, except there are 2 thin strips on each end. I used a half round foam dowel. Also painted gold.

18. Put top of staff on a balloon stick and spray painted gold.

19. Painted middle circle red.

20. Attached top and bottom of staff.

21. Attached red strip of fabric.
