On very hot days, remove the battery and connect a USB C cable to a battery pack. I do this recording very long drives in the Philippines in 5.3k 30fps Hypersmooth on 200Mbps bitrate with Extreme Pro sdcard

Professional photographer here, relatively experienced video guy, but brand new to GoPro. You’re one of the best GoPro guys I’ve seen. You have a profoundly strong grasp of understanding photography and video and I learn so much from all your videos. I just got a GoPro 12 for my bday this last month, and it’s my first. I’m loving it and getting even better results out of it from watching your videos and applying the techniques and settings you teach and recommend. I’m not using it for action, just vlogging and fun documenting of my family. My next step is to download GoPro labs and do even more fiddling.

Love your content. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi. Will you please make a video dedicated to GoPro Labs and explain in detail all the pros and cons?

Excellent video! As a new user of the GoPro 11, I had a lot to learn, as I upgraded from a GoPro 3 after realizing that I NEEDED video stabilization. Recently I had two problems: 1. I was surprised to see motion blur when I took video of a birthday celebration inside a restaurant, but I did have hypersmooth turned on. 2. I was using my GoPro to record my golf swing practice, and it overheated on me on a mild 70° day. Hypersmooth was also on by default even though the GoPro was mounted on a tripod. Your video took care of both of my problems!!! Thanks very much, and keep these videos coming!

Thanks for the video! Question: will the SanDisk 512GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I
Be able to work well with a GoPro Hero 10 Black?

Thank you and I'm glad I found your channel. I'm new to GoPro and I bought a used GoPro10 for SCUBA diving, but it came with no instructions. I didn't realize the capability and wish I would have done this sooner.

Do you use an external microphone? Trying to determine if the media mod or the mic adapter is better?

Great video, thank you for putting all this information together! In terms of overheating, most of the content creators do not consider use cases where people use their action cameras not for content creation but to capture family and personal moments. In such cases there is no point capturing 1 or 2 minutes, one just wishes to capture footage continuously for 30-60 minutes. If you add on top of this that people might use their action cameras during their holidays in places where temperature might be between 20-30 degrees Celsius all day then unfortunately these cameras overheat after 10-12 minutes of continuous recording and take time to recover.

Hey there,
Firstly, great channel deserving of a much higher Subscriber count.
Hopefully that happens in a short time period as i know these videos take a while to make.

Alot of your content has been helpful to myself as i own the GoPro 11&12, and always take them both on hiking trips, along with the myriad of accessories (including the Moza Mini P Max).

Now a question...
You have touched on GoPro accessories in a few videos, but i don't believe you have ever mentioned the GravGrip.
Are you aware of this fairly new US company ?
Its essentially an hydraulic leveling device for Action Cams or Phones.
Very simple, clever design.
Just an internal cog and gear, rust proof, and inexpensive (especially if you're in the US, which i'm not).
Mine arrives in a couple of days (to Australia), and i plan to use it on the Telesin 3 meter (118inch) Selfie Stick to mimic drone like shots, and in scenarios whereby a drone is not practical, like in heavily wooded areas.

Anyhow, just thought i'd mention the product, as it has only been reviewed a handful of times on YT channels that i have seen.

....cheers

This is a great video! I had looked at video prior to getting my GoPro 12 earlier this year and after. I wish YouTube shared you sooner. haha Seriously, great detailed video on these very important 10 things where I only knew 20% of them from previous watched videos. Definitely will be subscribing and following for other tips. Thank you again!

Sometimes a differing perspective is nice but not as a full time Dash cam! Here is an example of what I can do with my Hero8/11’s: 1 piece of AstroTurf, size approx 3x3 inches square. 2x pieces of lightweight 1/4” wood (I.E., pine) angle cut from point to approx 2-3 inches height and 6” inches length. Glued with popsicle sticks into a ramp. The ramp serves as unobtrusive cover for the GoPro. A small battery supply connected via short length of wire (USB to USB C, for example) to provide ample power continuity to the GoPro camera. The set up is placed approximately 10 feet forward of the pee wee/little league batter box. A video of all the kids when at bat is a treasure! All parents must sign to approve each child or the video, of the disapproving parents, is deleted! A keepsake video for the parents, as all kids are permitted how ever many swings to make a connect with the ball! This can be set up easily for an actual game or even just a practice session!
