Reality, for the dog only begins when the dog leaves it's home environment. This is why socialization, for a puppy is key. To expand on that, when socializing a puppy/young dog; it is vitally important to try and NOT to take the animal to the same place twice! By that I mean mix it up; horse farm, farmers market, town fairs, cow farms, golf courses, cities, State parks, trails etc. This is what truly makes a well balanced dog. Expose you're young dog to anything & everything in order to totally avoid hangups/quirks down the road.

Dogs are God's gift of love and an example, to us, of giving of love and tolerance. Even for the most poor and lowest of societies order one can still feel the love, respect and tolerance of God through his gift of the dog.

Well done video. I visited this monestary twice before as a pilgrim. My wife and I have four German Shepherds in our home. You will have no better friends than a good Gernan Shepherd. These monks and nuns are fantastic!

I am a new subscriber to the channel and was thrilled to see this interview. My husband and I are GSD people since the 70’s. One year for our birthday (we were born 3 days apart) my mother gave us a copy of their book. I have to admit I walked around pretty pleased with myself since I
already did a lot of their practice. I have shared the book with people and some followed the training and felt like they had a natural relationship with their dog.

Great podcast. Very valid comments about purely positive methods. We must be open to all methods of training to help each individual dog. Really enjoyed this.
