I also had it in the back of my neck for 3 years, it started around the beginning of the pandemic and it was really bad, i did everything to find ways to prevent it, i studied it to solved the problem but for 2 years of finding ways and experimenting and i found what worked for me is to cut my hair every 4 days just the back of my neck really low but not to low preferably i use my own razor to use and i always sanitize it my self with the help of my parents to cut it and used a antibacterial soap two times a day usually every after noon and before going to bed.
Every 5 days i change my bed sheet and pillow case

I really hate it because it makes me uncomfortable and i think people are looking at it whenever im in public and it feels like their judging me because i have it, my friends would ask my about it and sometimes i could not explain to them what it really is and the cause of it

My parents are also worried about it and would sometimes bring me to a dermatologist to check on it they would recommend some things and it do work but only temporarily and it would go back by the next a week or two

You could try what i did to help me it could or could not work for you and if it did thanks me.

Got this on my chest from shaving with a dirty razor in the shower, 4 months later it's still here. Just got antibiotics from a dermatologist, finger crossed it doesn't come back. Crazy condition, it survived accutane as well, unbelievable.

I've had this for 6 years. Am being treated by my dermatologist. Gave me antibiotics, which helped a bit but it came back a few days after I stopped using it. Gave me isotretinoin which does not help at all.

I use a sharp knife in combination with cold water to ease the irritation temporarily.

I am genuinely lost. Planning to dig a deep hole in my bank account, to get hair removal surgery performed.

Have a new rash on my back. Went to the dermatologist. They don’t really know what it is, but they suspect it is folliculitis. So they put me on low doses of doxycycline for a month. I have to take it for a month, orally, and they also gave me an antibiotic cream ( prescription ) that I have to put on my back by myself ( I live alone ). I put a couple of paper towels over my back scrubber and secure them with a rubber band around them. Then, I put the cream on the paper towels and smear it around on my back. Then I put on a soft T shirt to sleep in. They did not give me steroids or a steroid cream because they said that can sometimes make it worse, if it is indeed folliculitis. We will see. If it does not get better by the end of the month, they are going to do a biopsy and send it off to a lab to see what it is—-what kind of bacteria or fungus ( or whatever ) is causing the rash in my back. Good luck to everyone.

_folliculitis is not a disease, but your body is response to biological issues in your gut and your immune system; I drink Gingerale soda to help with my gut or ginger tea with no sugar. Also eating apples help with cleaning out your gut._

*_Vitamins for Eliminating Folliculitis in the Scalp_*

_To combat scalp folliculitis, which is often caused by bacterial or fungal infections, it is essential to support the immune system and reduce inflammation. Key vitamins and minerals include:_

*_Please be advised though: fat soluble vitamins, such as vitamin A, or vitamin E are extremely potent monitor how much you take because it can toxify your blood_*

_1. Vitamin A: Promotes skin cell turnover, helping to prevent clogged hair follicles. It also supports immune function, reducing bacterial infections in the scalp._

_2. Vitamin D: Enhances the body’s immune response, particularly against skin infections like folliculitis. Vitamin D has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce scalp inflammation._

_3. Zinc: This mineral helps regulate sebum production and supports skin healing, crucial for resolving folliculitis. Zinc also has antibacterial properties._

_4. Vitamin E: As a potent antioxidant, vitamin E promotes scalp healing by neutralizing free radicals that cause inflammation._

_5. Biotin (Vitamin B7): Supports healthy hair and skin, aiding in the prevention of folliculitis by maintaining healthy scalp tissue._

*_How Spiked Insulin Levels Can Cause Folliculitis and Vitamins to Prevent It_*

_Spiked insulin levels can contribute to folliculitis by promoting inflammation and sebum overproduction. When insulin levels rise sharply due to the consumption of high-glycemic foods, the body releases more sebum, which can clog hair follicles and lead to bacterial growth, contributing to folliculitis. Moreover, insulin resistance can trigger systemic inflammation, weakening the immune system’s ability to fight off infections on the scalp._

_To prevent insulin spikes and the resulting folliculitis, vitamins and minerals play a critical role. Magnesium helps regulate blood sugar and improves insulin sensitivity, while Chromium enhances insulin efficiency, preventing sharp rises in blood glucose. Omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation associated with insulin resistance, protecting the scalp. B vitamins, particularly B6 and B12, are crucial for healthy metabolism and reducing systemic inflammation caused by spiked insulin. Additionally, alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) supports insulin sensitivity, further preventing the insulin-triggered conditions that can lead to folliculitis._
