How I LEARNED PUBLIC SPEAKING as an untalented person

Показать описание
Hello everyone! My name is Sidika. I am an assistant professor at a business school.
Since I started my PhD, public speaking has become a significant part of my professional life. Teaching courses, presenting at conferences, and even some research meetings feel like public speaking.
As you may know, I am originally from Turkey, and although I had some opportunities to gain experience in public speaking during my undergrad and master’s degree, in general, public speaking is not something that we put so much effort and attention into in our education system in Turkey.
So, when I started my PhD in London, I wasn’t good at public speaking, so naturally, I didn’t like it.
Now, 2 years after completing my PhD, I can say that I really enjoy public speaking.
I cannot say that I am really good at public speaking, but I constantly try to improve myself. And over the years, I have accumulated some knowledge and experience, which I’d like to share in this video.
If you enjoy this video, please consider subscribing to my channel. Thank you for helping me reach a broader audience.
Overall, I’ll be sharing 4 tips that helped me a lot and hopefully help you improve your public speaking skills:
01:11 1. Practice a lot
05:02 2. work with a speaking coach
06:55 3. Do not take the reactions of your audience personally.
08:00 4. Focus on what your audience can remember from your talk instead of what you want to say.
