Oh man this saved me a lot of time in editing the rendered images! I had made a backdrop and set the meshes to not cast shadows on it, and I was going to use GIMP to take the background out of the images and make them transparent. This is SO much easier. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the handy and short tutorial! I have one annoying problem: If I render a video and edit it afterwards and render it again, the result stay the same as the original one. How do I reset/refresh so that the edited version becomes my final version?

Very helpful and to the point! But what is the best way to render out the separate passes (e.g. AO, Emissive, Z-Depth) and Layers to a single folder? Lots of tutorials on recombining them in the compositor, but not much on exporting to other programs!

I'm currently trying to export a PNG with transparency. My film is set to transparent, and I can see the checkerboard pattern in the background while in viewport shading. When I actually make a render image, the whole time it looks like checkerboard, until the moment it's done, it converts to black. Any ideas why? I've tried everything, and watched multiple videos, can't figure it out.
