This Zoo has all FOUR Great Apes! (Twycross Zoo Jan 2023)

In this video I take you around Twycross Zoo, the only zoo in the UK that's home to all four of the great apes, Gorillas, Orangutans, Bonobos, and Chimpanzees. There's also some rare animals such as the critically endangered Amur Leopard and many more!

Twycross is such a lovely zoo, and i have actually grown up with Jambo im only 2 years older than him.

I visited Twycross zoo when i was about 7 or 8. My most prominent memory from this trip was of tripping up and smacking my head on a wall housing some type of antelope. My knees were all cut and i had a big bump on my head 😅

So glad you got to see the great apes at Twycross! That Silverback Oumbi has the grumpiest face I've ever seen in a Silverback and I've seen a lot of them... His mate Ozala and her mother Biddy she's my favorite. That other female is named Asante and then of course it looked like you visited when Lope was still there (he's now in a bachelor group in France) and his younger brother Shufai. That hairless Chimp you saw was Jambo and he's a wonderful leader and he's got his mother, sisters and daughters there. His father passed away several years ago and his name was Mongo, he was also hairless and very close to Jambo. I recently saw that Jambo has befriended a new Chimp there named Tommy who very unchimp like and seems very innocent and sweet.
