Absolutely audacious racing both in planning and execution. I rarely watch Zwift racing from beginning to end but that was entertaining, educational, and inspirational. Congratulations Ed! Hope the sponsors flock to you.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights, very inspiring, even after I’ve ridden bikes for 40+ years, top shelf man 👍

I watched the race and it was sensational and i think that is playing it down. I was a doubter when you attacked but good golly did you prove me wrong. I can quite easily say that was the best executed plan i have ever seen on zwift. Great effort Ed.

Great video! Definitely doesn't come across as a showboat and for that matter I am jumping on the bike!
It was amazing to watch this race on Stream, one of the first Zwift races where I had my full attention for the entire ride

good break down Ed, attacking is where the real peleton is right now and sitting in is last years game. I believe the new world racing tactics has alot to do with turbos and structured power routines so please continue to show the way!

The most entertaining race I’ve ever watched on Zwift. Bring forth the sponsors. Inspiration for the ZRL which starts tomorrow

Certainly more entertaining than watching someone sitting in the group waiting for the sprint! One of the most inspiring sporting efforts I've seen in a while.

Just like you said I was riding at the same time as watching it was only 100 K Endurance ride but watching makes you want to push just a bit harder. I’ve already said it but I will say it again Ed massive respect for what you do for all of us. 👍

gutted to have missed it live, but by far the best Zwift stream/race to have watched back, you inspire us every vlog or stream to get on our bikes indoors or out to achieve what we think is impossible, sometimes the plan works, sometimes it doesn't, but when its executed perfectly and that fuzzy feeling inside, there's nothing better, 5.1 wkg for 89 minutes 😍 thats EdMODE summed up in 1 race 👏👏👏

I, for example, had absolutely no idea who band of climbers (placed a few orders already), Tifosi etc were before I watched your channel. Hope these brands realize how important people like you are in the industry and support you even more. Again, epic and super entertaining race!

Unfortunately I missed the stream, but was blown away re-watching it later. Insane performance! 🤯
That early attack shouldn't normally work on Zwift, but as you explain it makes all the sense in the world. By now you - and many of us too tbh - know from experience that many of the top riders on Zwift are very strong, but they're often indoor specialists and rarely tested like this over longer time spans and with repeated hard efforts. Generally speaking, it has always proven to be the case that the longer and tougher a Zwift race is the more people suffer, while you just keep going almost as strong as you began.
Mind-blowing performance. Masterful display of spot on and successful tactics. Flawless equipment choice and wheel switching technique (Thanks, Backpedal experts 😄). 👏👏✌

If I could ever put out that kind of power, i'd feel like a God. the human body is an amazing machine.

I did this myself in Ghost category, and also went hard for first over the Epic KOM. I got dropped by the descending pack and burnt some matches to get back on, and the Alpe was HORRIBLE. Well below threshold, painful, and a slog to get to the top. Dropped to 8th in the end. What was so impressive with your performance is the endurance at the top end - incredible to still be producing so much after such a hard race and 6 stages in. Top job!
