Why is it that every tutorial on youtube is extremely easy to factor out but every problem in my Algebra 2 class requires hours of work for one problem?

I needed some recap for my first year of University and I like the way you explain. You explain in such a straightforward and clear manner. Thanks for this little example!

I don't trust someone who writes an x like that

I've been trying to understand this concept all semester & I finally get it. Thanks!

As a college student, I COMPLETELY forgot about this technique, which is useful for partial fraction decomposition. Thank you so much for the video! ^^

this equation is so easy to solve. anyone can do it. post a tutorial solving tougher equations.

Guys come on. Easy problems make the best examples and this was well done. If this video doesn't satisfy you watch a few more vids.

My pre-calculus teacher skipped over this portion and left me confused, this helped a lot.

Haha she took an easy equation and solved it :P Gal u wasted my time so I'm here to comment n waste few more seconds of mine .

Three step magic! Really helpful for Partial Fraction integration. Thanks!

But if the coefficients of cubic equation cannot divide so easy, such this example, what will you do in this case?

Yes but in this case you can easily factorize from the beginning (with x-4), but I don't think that would occur most of the time.

This is cool and an eye opener.

But what if I have something like

2x^3 + 7x^2 + 7x + 12

There are no common factors I can factorise between 7x and 12.

f(x) = x^3 - 11x^2 - 25x - 13
y = p*x + q
Line Y is the tangent of f(x) at A(a, f(a)) and intersects with f(x) at B (13, 0). A =/= B. What is the sum of p+q?

This requires solving a cubic that is not as convenient. Maybe a fun assignment for some out there. The solution is p=q=0 (a = -1 or a = -13). There are at least two other ways to solve it (a lot quicker than factoring a cubic equation) but none that I can comprehend haha

This is just what I needed! Reviewing some basic algebra principles in order to prep for my Calc class. Thank you!

All of this hate about the problems being too easy is just a waste of time. The video was probably made to show people the basic strategy to solve a cubic equation. It wasn't meant to be super confusing by using complex problems.
