CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The President (Bill Pullman) communicates with the alien, but is dismayed by its message to mankind.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
A group of intrepid humans attempts to save the Earth from vicious extraterrestrials in this extremely popular science-fiction adventure. Borrowing liberally from War of the Worlds, Aliens, and every sci-fi invasion film inbetween, director Roland Emmerich and producer and co-writer Dean Devlin present a visually slick, fast-paced adventure filled with expensive special effects and large-scale action sequences. The story begins with the approach of a series of massive spaceships, which many on Earth greet with open arms, looking forward to the first contact with alien life. Unfortunately, these extraterrestrials have not come in peace, and they unleash powerful weapons that destroy most of the world's major cities. Thrown into chaos, the survivors struggle to band together and put up a last-ditch resistance in order to save the human race. As this is a Hollywood film, this effort is led by a group of scrappy Americans, including a computer genius who had foreseen the alien's evil intent (Jeff Goldblum), a hot-shot jet pilot (Will Smith), and the President of the United States (Bill Pullman). While some critics objected to the film's lack of originality and lapses in logic, the combination of grand visual spectacle and crowd-pleasing storytelling proved irresistible to audiences, resulting in an international smash hit.

in love with how the alien explained themselves in two simple answers: "no peace" & "die".

Love how the agent knew exactly what the general was talking about as soon as he asked whether the glass was bulletproof.

There was more to the conversation in the script;
President: Why did you people come here?
Alien: Air... water... your sun.
President: Where do you people come from?(Alien doesn't answer) Where's your home?
Alien: Here... now.
President: And before here?
Alien: Many worlds.
Then the president talks about a truce possibility and peace.
The alien wanted to make the president understand so it communicated with him by showing the president it's thoughts. Basically, the aliens don't see themselves as invaders, they see themselves as the new tenants of Earth and they see the people of Earth as the pests for them to exterminate before moving into their new home.

They did a really great job with the practical effects on the aliens in this film, the slime and texture on the aliens looks so believable and just adds more to this badass scene.

This scene is incredibly eery. An alien communicating through a human body & the president asking it what do you want us to do & it replies back with "DIE".

Goosebumps.

Who else thinks that these beings were much more terrifying, mysterious, and cold in the original ID4 instead of the new sequel?

When I was a kid, seeing this for the first time, this moment made the aliens more terrifying than any other extraterrestrials I'd ever seen in fiction 😨

"They're like locusts---after they consume every natural resource, they move on." "My God, sir---They're businessmen!"

How haunting and terriffying this scene was. I still just can't understand how stupid the staff (Major Mitchell etc.) at Area 51 was to let this dissection process without any safety precautions. I mean, come on, guys, if only one soldier had been posted there as a guard with an M16 or something. The alien would have been killed long before Dr. Okun would have noticed that an accident happened and the alien began right after it to attack the labor specialists and used Dr. Okun as a mouthpiece. That was careless. Let's hope this doesn‘t happen again.

The aliens picked the wrong planet to invade.
