Being backuped by IBM inderectly is kinda nice but also brings a lot of concerns, for now its one of the best.

With Arch you need to have extra time to do some reading & troubleshooting because sometimes things won't just work right out of the box.

If you don't have that extra time, better choose other distro that will work just by a click of a button.
But if you do have them, you can make a system however suits your need.

Fedora is the best - both my wife and I use fedora and our laptops. And for my desktop its Arch using the cachyos kernel.

Arch breaks more frequently. And it requires knowledge to fix. Fedora let's you be more productive.

Arch: Rolling release (can cause it to break more often but newer packages), diy model, pacman+aur.

Fedora: Semi-rolling or hybrid release (more reliable but older packages), works out of the box, dnf.

Debian: Stable release (extremely reliable but even older packages), Semi-diy (gives a gui to customize it), apt.

nah if you beginner just start with linux mint, that's will be great experience, fedora is awesome but if you come from windows, although fedora is better come to new hardware, linux mint more stable than fedora, fedora is more recommended for people who switch from another distro, not from windows
