Incredible young lifter, in so many ways; smart, disciplined, etc.

I got coaching from Matt and he took my squat from 360 to over 500.

This might be one of the best videos you've posted.

Not sure if anyone will see this, since this video is a few weeks old at this point, but I feel compelled to comment.

I’ve had pretty bad hip tendinitis for several years, which was really negatively effecting my squat progress. Decided to give this type of training a try. In 3 weeks, I’ve PR’d 3 times, and my hip pain has gone from consistently moderate/occasionally severe to NOTHING. Like, completely gone.

This kind of training is definitely worth considering. Thanks Matt, for the advice 👍

Specificity and frequency alone can change numbers quite well. Of course I'm not advanced enough to change variables in such thoughtful way as Matt, but when I made changes to my program, to increase frequency of certain lifts (by that I mean basic compound exercises) and traning certain body parts, my progress in squat, bench, deadlift literally skyrocketed in comparision how I progressed before changes. I never prioritized any of this lifts, because I think that in my case it is too early for that. I'm not even have a 2 years of expierience yet and someone wise told me, that when you are lifting less than two years, you probably don't have any weak points, but your entire body is weak.

That sounds like a great idea of thinking about your lifting. I might have to try it out now since you put it so nicely! 🤙😍

8 sets with 5 minutes rest? Just curious

Nice, so hit 1 Top double @90%, 8 doubles 80%, 3x/wk, add 5# per week.

Seems solid, I wouldn't have thought doubles were effective relative to triples, but seems I'm totally wrong. I'll give this a go!

This really is a good method but it takes so long in the gym.

did you add 5lbs a week to ur topset or the 8 doubles

So 3x a week, adding 5 lbs a week. Does this mean doing 3 sessions with the same weight, each week?

I just added 100 lbs to my squat in one day.

My whole body is crushed tho

Would this be applicable to deadlifts as well? If so I'm assuming probably less days and training sets right?

How did you estimate your continually increasing 1RM to calculate the 90% and 80% respectively?

Had the same experience with submaximal loads.
