I once had a nightmare when I was about 10 or 11.

Sorry if the writing seems weird in some way I am sick and I am tired at the same time. If it makes no sense at all please let me know.

So, in the nightmare I was 8 years old, a bunch of my friends had come over for a playdate. We were building blocks around a table, making it a “fortress”. I eventually had to go to the bathroom and went upstairs. When I came back down, nobody was there, not even my parents. I was confused, how did they leave so quickly? How did they do that without making a sound? Confused, I went out to the back and saw that it was suddenly winter and snowing heavily, visibility being low. I didn’t have time to question it before I saw one of my friends was getting their winter coat on and their mother was helping them. When I asked “Why are you leaving? How did you do it so quickly and quietly?” My friend’s mother replied with the words “We do not want to play with *you* anymore.” And they both quickly went to their car and drove away. I followed, not wanting to be alone.

When they pulled out onto the road (and I think I should mention that we lived on a hill) I watched them drive away. I looked around and noticed it wasn’t snowing anymore, and that despite the low visibility, the hill seemed to be… bigger than it usually is. I walked down the hill for a bit, and it kept on going. Not ending. I turned back and tried to find my house again but couldn’t. Eventually I just opened the door to one of the houses that dotted the area and all I saw was bright abstract colors that looked like they were painted. They still looked like furniture, but at the same time felt so alien. As though I stumbled into a half-forgotten memory that is barely keeping itself together.
