I worked at Best Buy for a year and a half, and an employee was trying to leave due to a family emergency. The manager did something very similar to this, stepping in front of them and forced them into the warehouse to bring items out to stock the shelves.

A customer saw this and called the police. The manager was arrested for *kidnapping*, because they attempted to force the employee into another location (The warehouse), and because they physically stood in front of them, stopping them from leaving

I was in a bookstore once, and someone saw me looking over a section and decided to ask me some questions about the books I was near. I owned about 3/4ths of the books in that corner (I was looking to see if they had the new book in one of the series I enjoy), so I had like a 25 min convo about all sorts of recommendations and why I enjoyed a bunch of them. At the end the dude asked me how long I'd been working there and I just laughed and told him I didn't before walking off into the rest of the mall

Something super similar happened to me in a computer shop, it was this old lady, and I told her I don't work there and she stared at me for a few seconds and asked her question again, I again said I don't work there and she said "Ok... but you do look like you know what you're doing, can you just help me please?". Mah hart.

I helped her of course.
