A young IT genius was planning to present his project to an old-fashioned investor, who appeared to be absolutely intolerant to all the other races except white people.

That is why he has mistaken the black IT guy for a waiter. The poor developer had noting to do but keep playing the waiter the whole night, while the real waiter was playing a developer.

Have you ever been mistaken for someone else?

"I don’t trust anyone who’s nice to me but rude to the waiter. Because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position."

My brother was a helicopter pilot for (25) years. At every interview and every first day on a job, white men assumed he was either a mechanic, fuel jockey or janitor. To their surprise and dismay when they learned he was a well experienced, military trained pilot, some had nerve to question my brother’s credentials. We were blessed to grow up with a parent who prepared us to not only EXPECT such attitudes but also how to REACT with dignity.

As a speech pathologist who happens to be black, I experience this daily. My assistant, an awesome lady, who happens to be white is often mistaken for the SLP and I, the assistant. It is so weird to witness the inate biases...I honestly, feel really bad for people who think like this. They miss out on so many brilliant people because of their delusional race based superiority idealogy, that has no basis in fact.

An a black man with over 20 years of leadership experience in HR, this happens more often then people realize. I’ve personally been asked to either attend or not attend a meeting because of my race and the client’s preference.

The waiter looked very relieved when he could go back to what he did best. It is nice that he allowed the waiter to leave without yelling at him.

There is no room for racism in the world, treat diversity respectively.

The response the waiter gave as the programming language being C and two crosses had me 😂😂😂😂😂

We accept diversity in plants, minerals and animals. In cars, fashion, houses etc. Yet we can not accept diversity in human beings too. What insanity.🤯

I went to pick up my last check from a hotel I worked at...I was wearing a dress shirt unbuttoned, black jeans, and dress shoe and shades. A white man kept looking around and he got in my path, asking if I was his cab driver. I side stepped and kept going. I headed back to my car, task done. He called out " Why didn't you say anything ? " I continued to ignore him and left. Sometimes you don't owe any explanation at all. Silence can be powerful.

The way the waiter said 'Its a C and two crosses' so stupidly and confidently 😂😂😅

From the very beginning of the video, I was getting a feeling that the boss was even more evil than the investor. Had Frank been a genuine person, he would have clarified it to the investor that the one he thinks to be a waiter is actually a genius IT guy but it turned out that the boss was more interested in greasing the palm of the seemingly racist investor. However, it was good to see justice being served at the end 📻

My concern is Phil, that he has such a low value of himself to be manipulated that way...now even in the future his new boss will know he's easy to control. This is a tale of self worth to me.

I love the trap the investor set to test his character and integrity. Although this had a good ending, the opening scene reminds me of something that happened to me. My son attended a prestigious private school and graduated high school this year. A post-graduation luncheon was held at a nearby country club. I consider myself a relatively unassuming brown skinned middle-aged man of African American and Asian heritage, and dressed accordingly for the occasion in a nice suit. Walking through the dining area I was stopped by a woman who was seated at a table I was passing, and she asked me if I could bring more drinks to her table full of guests. Her husband glared at her coldly, squeezed her arm and said “No.” She started to say something to him and he shook his head and repeated “No!” He obviously recognized me as a parent of a graduate (my son being the only brown-skinned kid in his graduating class) and tried to squash the situation before I had an opportunity to let her know that I was not a member of the club’s wait staff. I simply smiled and walked away. A similar incident occurred when I was working in Washington DC. I was standing outside a hotel in the valet area when a guy approached me and ask me if I was going to load his bags in the shuttle.

As a bagger in a grocery store in Louisiana. My manager would move me to different registers with certain customers who didn’t want blacks touching their groceries. This was 2014.

Thank you for this honest vide, it brought me to tears. As a career driven black woman I go through this often with a lot of micro aggressions. Thank you for expanding the awareness; most people don’t know what they do. The manager character in the video was unaware he was a racist; as he was going with the flow of the investor. Ironically a lot of managers do not have a backbone to speak up and have a voice of their own. They play it safe for their benefit.

I was in the medical field for over 17 years. I was in charge of the MS center in Southern California. Every time my doctor had talks or we had to travel to present people (white folks) would see me and right away since I’m Mexican I could see how they would talk to me or give me orders. As soon as my doctor would tell him I was in charge of the office I can see how they would treat me differently. Sad world.

Now, this is what you call, reverse psychology! The investor literally pulled out, the true feeling and intentions of that man. You can never make a deal with a racist, good skit! 🤙
