I realized some time ago that I, nay “We”, have no idea what the Fk is going on. Knowing that is actually kind of comforting.

I cannot see any obvious advantage in the conscious state. Two stones on a rocky planet. One is oblivious to everything. The second is fully aware of what he is and where he is. How does awareness profit the second? Is it any surprise that the second, in his misery, invents god and a divine purpose until he dies, still a stone, to return his atoms to the happy unconscious state.

Existentialism is the philosophical belief we are each responsible for creating purpose or meaning in our own lives. Our individual purpose and meaning is not given to us by Gods, governments, teachers or other authorities.

It’s okay to say it is a waste of time to seek a meaning for existence.

“Human essence is what we choose to make it, ” and THAT is what most people actually mean by “God.” I’m okay with that. God is what is, and nothing more or less as far as we can tell. God can be oxygen, or your brain, or somebody else’s brain, or time/space time, or Carl Jung, or Jesus, or a time machine in the future, or the sun, or a drug, or ALL of these things are and can be quantified/qualified. As long as kittens are involved, it will be alright, everyone.
EDIT: “Earned, but not learned, ” indeed. But it’s 50/50, right?
