I'm trying to take Grade 8 this year, thank you so much for the amazing recordings! I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed, because the last test I took was the Grade 6 test 2 years ago; grade 8 is definitely a step up in expression of playing, but most of all, THE LENGTH OF THE PIECES. EACH PIECE IS AT LEAST 4 PAGES. When I lay my pages next to each other, they're already falling off my piano stand 😂
I have to say, I really like B3 (my bias), though at some times it seems quite simple to play besides the fast part in the middle. A2 is also simple, except for the fact that its demanding in terms of sheer length (and I think speed).

I love it, so beautiful. Reminds me of the many years I lived in Hampstead. My daughter went there to primary school. I used to climb up and down the hills commuting to work cycling. Initially I went north to Mill Hill and later to Kensington. Those were the days.

I never understood how insane my Uncle was at piano until I heard he achieved Grade 8 like 30 years ago and hasn't stopped practicing or playing since lol. I learnt a bit of music theory from him and he was a good teacher, but some of the stuff he would pull out of nowhere to showcase a certain point nearly melted my face off lmao.

I remember asking what a scale was one time and after explaining he played the most perfectly articulated circle of fifths I've ever heard xd.
