For those that are curious:

A derecho  is a very long lived and damaging thunderstorm. A storm is classified as a derecho if wind damage swath extends more than 240 miles and has wind gusts of at least 58 mph or greater along most of the length of the storm's path.

I just bought the blackout version of this. Blackened blade, black handle with the inlay. I love this knife. Definitely worth it. GP knives still has it in stock.

An alternative wharncliffe version with a straight edge from the current tip to the heel of the blade would be 🔥. It doesn't even look like anything else would need to be altered.

Love mine! Met Brian at BladeShow last month--super nice guy!

Love mine, but honestly really wish it had the old flipper. I had to adjust my detent because I was constantly slipping off the flipper tab with the stiffer detent mine came with. Action is great, but I personally think it would be multitudes better with the original flipper tab.

I was happy that I got in on the preorder and I got the fancy boy version and I’m very happy with mine and I’m looking forward to getting a regular version for a EDC one I’d use daily!!! BN makes these so smooth for use and it’s just as good if not better than any of his other models!!!

I’m in Tulsa and we had a derecho last Father’s Day. Winds 100mph + throughout the whole city. 250, 000 people without power for nearly a week. Craziest storm I’ve ever been in.

Side note, that blade would be GORGEOUS in damasteel.

As an electrician I use a hawkbill everyday, I currently carry a Case Pruner, but this makes me want to try it out!

I wouldn't worry that much about the "sharp" point on the pocket clip. That's something people can fix to their own liking with ease. Stone or sand wash it, polish/sand it etc. I'm not a huge fan of Hawkbill blades, but this one looks really good.

For anyone who checks the DLT link and sees that they're now sold out- there are 8 colorways of the Derecho still available on the Sharp by Design website.

I hope that the sales bump from this video helps Brian Nadeau to change his mind. In the comments of his IG post from June 13, he mentions that he's stopped doing production knives until further notice, due to poor sales (of production knives- the customs still fly off the shelves). This is a major bummer, because I was hoping for one more run of Evo Typhoons. I'd imagine those would actually sell well, as opposed to his more recent, more polarizing output.

I got the Typhoon when you reviewed it a few months ago and I LOVE it. This one looks every bit that one's equal, I'm just not too sure about the blade shape.

Beautiful knife. Was very hard to not purchase one. That 650 timascus one will defidently go up in value over time.

The tip on my Derecho mysteriously broke. Just barely, it's almost impossible to notice, but all I've done is fidget with it and cut some paper. Haven't even carried it and definitely haven't dropped it. I figured it would happen at some point, but that it would be during use or as a result of some sort of impact 🤷‍♂️

I own the dericho and the typhoon. I prefer the flipper tab on the typhoon and the only reason it doesn’t bother me as much on the new model is because it reverse flicks so well. That being said dericho is a great knife- please change to old flipper tab 🎉 also they accidentally put the T8 side of the pivot on the wrong side on every copy of dericho…kind of bothers me tbh

My problem with the pocket clip isn't how it is in my hand, it's the tendency to catch on stuff when it's in my pocket. Most often, it's when I'm in the act of sitting down at my computer it will snag on the arm of my office chair. I've had other clips catch the same way, and those clips have the snot bent out of them. At least the SBD clip doesn't bend. I just worry that it will tear up the soft chair arm, or as MC said, "scratch the beans out of your vehicle."

If the tip was rounded off or flattened out so it wasn't so prominent, that would be so much better.
