For anyone wondering again if it uses the "Rendered" clip or the original "Decomposed" clip on the final Export/Deliver: It uses the "Rendered" one so if you want to keep the original, you need to decompose it again before adding the timeline to the Render Queue

Thank you so much Casey, I'm in the middle of an edit and I accidentally deleted my render in place footage and thought I lost a bunch of edited footage, I'm talking hours of work. I was ready to cry and give up filmmaking till you showed me how to save it. Truly not all heroes wear capes, thank you sir!

Awesome. I needed this feature. Love the humorous little pieces in all your narratives. Like comedy and learning combined! 🤝

What a coincidence. I stumbled on the option in Davinci and came to this video to learn about it. My project is also on beekeping!

This REALLY save me on a project Casey. I kept crashing while rendering at a certain point. So I pre rendered the clip where it was crashing and after that I was able to render. So it helps get you through fusion memory issues as well it seems.

You are awesome, adding simple effects to my YT videos ends with my laptop freaking out and on the verge of burning a hole through something.

You just saved my bacon. I'm new to fusion but worked out and troubleshot this intro graphic. It was running too slow so I rendered it in place and all of my nodes were just gone, and I was freaking out because I want to reuse this for other intros. THANK YOU!!!

This is great info, Casey. Please also tell us what effect this has on the DELIVER page. (Missing from this video.) When we render the final video on Deliver, does it use the "Render In Place" clip, or the original clip? That can have an impact on whether we need to decompose to original clip before delivering. Thanks so much!

If you would rather not wait and pre-render footage that might take hours, you can create a separate timeline to unload all of the previous work. Once you're finished, copy everything back to the end of the original timeline. This seems to work for me, and is a lot faster!😀
