The Video Game industry needs a lobbying and PR firm

The video game industry needs a board or organization that promotes video games to the general public all year long. We see lots of advertising around console launches and significant game releases, but afterward, gaming disappears from general media attention.

Tragedies in the news are so often attributed to video games or felons who happen to own an Xbox. There is no voice to counter false allegations by lazy news organizations looking fro an easy scapegoat.

Most major industries have lobbyists, boards and organizations that help organize and promote the positive elements. Gaming is too big to lack that kind of exposure and voice. Gamers know what's going on, but expanding that reach will bring better PR and more revenue streams.

O man I'm a die hard gamer and I had no idea there was even such a day.  Video games are finally at a huge main stream point, but that's because of modern day systems that have multi -player.  Computer gamer's like my self where mutli-playing in the mid to late 90's.  And us retro gamer's as well still don't have a voice.  I mean I don't really even follow any of the modern day systems, I just kinda stick with my computer games as far as current.  Modern day video games are all the same, some crappy FPS war simulation.  I'll stick to my classic's, like arcade games, NES, SNES, Sega Gen., so on.  And now the flashback's systems are doing real good, they say retro gaming is becoming very popular.  Good, about time.  I cant wait until more flashback systems are out.
